SPOON SPORTS believes that brakes are not parts that stop a car, but parts that turn a car. Braking is the first operation of cornering, which slows down the car to an appropriate speed, causes load transfer, and creates a corner entry posture.
We developed a 4-pot aluminum caliper as a brake part for turning for the K-Sports N-ONE.
Even with a normal one-sided 1-pot caliper, it is possible to simply slow down the car by using a brake pad with strong effectiveness, but precise control is difficult, and it is not easy to create a posture by braking when entering a corner. A multi-pot caliper that responds accurately to pedal operation allows precise pedal operation by multiple pistons from the left and right, and can actively control the entry posture into a corner, making it a caliper suitable for sports driving. We considered and tested the weight of the vehicle, the allowable tire size, etc. and determined that a 4-pot is optimal.
This 4-pot caliper has a capless full monocoque body structure using an angle head processing machine used to manufacture brake calipers for racing such as MotoGP, and has high body rigidity to minimize the risk of fluid pressure loss and leakage. The pistons are equipped with dust boots, making daily maintenance easy and allowing for long-term use with peace of mind. The rotor used in this kit is 260mm in diameter, 30mm larger than the standard, providing stable performance even during long periods of driving and maintaining good pedal feel.
Experience the stable braking performance and precise controllability that make it easy to turn.
What we think here at SPOON is the caliper is not to stop the car, but the part to make it turn. Braking is the first thing you do to slow down to the right speed, transfer the vehicle weight and create the best cornering position in order to make a turn. The brake part we made is a 4 pot aluminum caliper that is meant to make your car turn.
Using a 1 pot caliper with a strong brake pad will sure be enough if you need to slow the vehicle down, precise brake control however will be difficult, especially when it comes to cornering.
Tire size, vehicle weight and other multiple tests led us to the conclusion that 4 pots are the best. And here is why: the multi pot caliper response to the pedal is a lot more accurate which obviously makes it a choice for the sports driving. Pressing the brake pad with multiple pistons from the left and right is more precise and allows more control over vehicle's attitude when making a turn.
This caliper has a capless full monocoque body structure made with angle head processing machine that is also used to make racing calipers for MotoGP. Its features include high body rigidity and minimized risks of pressure loss and fluid leakage.
The pistons feature dust boots making daily maintenance and use easy and safe.
The rotor diameter is 260mm, which is 30mm larger than normal, making it more stable in a long run and giving you a great pedal feel.
Better than ever braking ability and precise control over every turn you may make, just try it yourself.
