We test the new generation K-Sports N-ONE in various scenes such as circuits, streets, and winding roads.
The N-ONE has high body rigidity and feels solid on the street, but on circuits and winding roads, the response to steering operations is reduced and instability during braking is felt.
As a result of various tests, we found that reinforcing the periphery of the front subframe dramatically improves handling, and we developed a stiff plate like the S660 and FK Civic.
Reinforcement is generally done by adding bars, but the reinforcement with bars is linear in one direction. However, a car has inputs from multiple directions, and in order to suppress all of these bending and twisting, multiple bars need to be laid out in a complex manner, which increases the weight.
The stiff plate can reinforce multiple mounting points with a surface, so it can reinforce inputs from various angles with little weight increase, and dramatically improve bending and torsional rigidity. The stiff plate
for the N-ONE has a truss shape in the areas where strength is needed, efficiently ensuring strength, and has succeeded in increasing the lateral load capacity by more than 2 tons compared to the normal model.
The material is 2.0mm thick JSC780 ultra high tensile steel, and the surface is treated with cationic treatment equivalent to the OEM.
Install the stiff plate and experience firmer, smoother handling than that of a regular car.
We have been testing new generation K-Sports N-one in various conditions such as circuit, street, and winding road.
Despite high body rigidity and rather steady feel in the street conditions, we felt the decreased steering response and some instability with braking on winding roads and circuit.
Various tests showed that reinforcing the circumference of the front subframe improves handling, that led us to developing the stiff plate similar to S660 and FK CIVIC ones.
While it is common to add a bar for reinforcement, it generally works in one direction. Any car, however, has inputs from multiple directions, which makes it necessary to add several bars in a specific way, that obviously results in an increased weight.
STIFF PLATE collects and reinforces multiple mounting points on its surface which allows to improve the torsional rigid weightity and bending with minimum increase.
N-ONE STIFF PLATE's truss shape is applied exactly where the extra strength is required, improving the lateral load capacity by over two tons compared to normal.
Made of 2.0mm high tensile steel with genuine like cation treated surface.
